From Cachepell to Catchpell
Our past runs deeper than most.
The name Catchpell House recalls a royal tennis court built here in 1617 for King James VI, on the ground that would later lend its name to Bernard Street. Centuries on, that same site was rebuilt for industry, and today its original beams and cast iron columns shape nine individual homes - a rare thread connecting Leith's royal and industrial past to contemporary living at the water's edge.
